Samuel Fulmes
CWO Sam Fulmes CD (Ret’d), beloved husband of Wilma Fulmes of Edmonton, passed away on September 11, 2020, at the age of 97 years.
Sam was born in Nahachiw, Ukraine but moved to Hubbard, Saskatchewan in 1927. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and made in a career, retiring in 1976. He then continued to work for the Department of National Defense for another eleven years, finally retiring in 1987. He loved spending time with the extended family, travelling, stamp collecting, attending functions at The Royal Canadian Legion and family camping.
Sam is survived by his son, Anthony (Tamara); granddaughter, Tori (Simon); and great-grandson, Quentin; brothers, Mike and Henry (Pat); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Predeceased by his parents, John and Effie; wife, Wilma; daughter, Susan; and sister, Anne.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their conscientious, kind, and compassionate care.
Prayers and visitation Friday, September 18 between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 -111 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Mass Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 13131 – 86 Street with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
