Obituary of Sally Ann Livingstone
Sally Ann Livingstone (nee Smithson) passed away at the Chelsey Park Long-Term Care in London on Thursday March 26, 2020. She was born August 11, 1934 in London to Iva and George (Peter) Smithson. Mom always said that during the depression they never wanted for anything. Her father was with the LFD (for 37 years) and was able to provide for the family. Mom and her family lived on Simcoe Street in London until she was swept off of her feet by a young lineman on a Harley Davidson and married. It was quite a ride she would reflect at times. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 63 years. James passed away in November, 2014. She was also predeceased by her only brother, Bill Smithson. Mom and Bill were very close. Mom chose to be a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing Euchre and Rumoli well into the early hours. Mom and Dad owned a cottage in Rondeau Park and made many friends during their time there. I think everyone that met her liked her. Dad was quite a character but Mom could hold her own with him and as time passed it was clear they were inseparable but it was always fun to watch the dynamics between them. I think she would want everyone to know that she lived the kind of life she wanted to and thoroughly enjoyed it. They raised four children and we will miss her for the rest of our lives. During the last few years of her life her health deteriorated and she became a resident at Chelsey Park. We were very happy with the care and compassion Dr. Crabbe and the Chelsey staff provided to our mother. Sally wished for a private interment as her ashes and our father’s will be mixed together to rest under a stone that in addition to their names has inscribed two words our mother wanted. “Together Again”.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Sally
