S. Calvin Legge
September 21, 1948 – April 16, 2020
Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, April 16, 2020, S. Calvin Legge of Heart’s Delight-Islington, aged 71 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann Legge (nee Harnum); mother, Annie Legge; uncle, Joseph Alexander (Sandy) Legge; mother and father-in-law, Geraldine and George Harnum; brothers-in-law, Ron Reid, Robert Harnum and Jerry Harnum; sisters-in-law, Joyce Harnum and Sheila Harnum.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his loving son, Stanley (Kayla); brother, Winston (Eileen) Legge; sister, Geraldine Legge; aunt, Melvie; brother-in-law, Melvin (Maxine) Harnum; sisters-in-law, Mabel (Weldon) Jerrett, Olive (Mervin) Jackson and Betty Galway; dearly loved friend, Jean Piercey along with her children, Michael (Teena) Piercey, Dennis (Dallas) Piercey, and Terry (Della) Piercey; his fur buddy, Chase; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and large circle of family and friends.
Calvin was a long time member of the UA Local 740 Pipe Fitters and Plumbers Union as a pipe welder. Calvin also supplied mechanical and welding fabrication services from his garage to local and abroad clients. He was a proud and dedicated active member of the Hearts Delight-Islington Volunteer Fire Department for the past 40 plus years.
A special thanks to Dr. Leung, nurses, doctors and staff at Carbonear General Hospital and H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic for providing professional caring services over past few years. Also, thanks to Hearts Delight-Islington ambulance services for their quick professional response.
Cremation has taken place.
Due to current public health advisory, visitation and a service of celebration for Stanley’s life will be held at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Calvin’s memory may be made to the Heart’s Delight-Islington Volunteer Fire Department or to the Church of the Epiphany, Heart’s Delight-Islington.
