Ruth Jessie
O’Brien – 70, Truro,
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at her home. Born
in Rawdon Gold Mines, she was a daughter of the late Zeba and Frances
(Hines) O’Brien.
In earlier years, Ruth lived and worked in Dartmouth and
later moved to Truro where she worked at the Bank of Montreal
building; she retired at age 65.
Ruth is survived by her sisters, Maggie Olsen,
Truro; Kathleen (John) Frenette, Windsor; Mary Campbell,
Windsor; Annie Chandler, Windsor; brothers, Harold (Eleanor)
O’Brien, West Branch, Pictou County; Ralph (Vivian)
O’Brien, Antigonish; several nieces and nephews. Along with
her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Milton
O’Brien and George O’Brien.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where a private
funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
