RUTH ENID MONSEES 2020

RUTH ENID MONSEES (née: Dann), born the ninth child of eleven, on December 25 1946 in Moose Jaw at supper time, interrupting her mother’s Christmas meal. Ruth took her schooling in Moose Jaw then Verwood Sask. then back to Moose Jaw. Ruth met Cyril Monsees in July of 1964 and they married April 20, 1968. On July 2,1974 Ruth gave birth to their first child Cory Sean then on October 26,1978 Ruth gave birth to another son MacKenzie Ryan, and then two years later on October 26,1980 Ruth gave birth to Shauna Dayle. Ruth worked at many different jobs in her lifetime: Mr. MacDonald at Club 71 on main and Caribou St. in the mid to late sixties then she and Cy worked for Liepert and Jones Holdings which sent them across the province to Oxbow, Kenosee Lake, Leader and back to Kenosee Lake finally in 1974 back to Moose Jaw. She also worked for lawyers Gardner and Ocrane, Smitty’s restaurant on the highway and last was Sears Canada for approximately twelve years. Ruth is predeceased by her daughter Shauna Dayle Neustaeter on August 24, 2016. Ruth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cyril Monsees; son, Cory (Janelle) and their three children; son, MacKenzie (Melanie) and their two children; son in-law, Michael Neustaeter and his three children; brothers, Bob (Mary) and D’arcy (Sheila); sisters, Helen (George) and Linda and numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, a Private Family Service will take place. In lieu Of flowers donations in Ruth’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Palliative Care Program c/o Moose Jaw Health Foundation 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Director 306-693-4550.
