Obituary
It is with heavy hearts but with appreciation for a life well lived, that the family of Ruth Sonier announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on February 10, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Percy and Hazel (Burlock) Blizzard.
Ruth was a woman of strong faith. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her son Frank Sonier of Saint John; daughters Susan Skinner (Mike) of BC and Sandra Sonier-Comeau (Darryl) of Kanata, ON; cherished grandchildren Justin (Taylyn), Kyle (Lesley), Riley (Michelle), Matthew, Lindsey (Sam) and Jessica (Rob) ; great-grandchildren: Brydon, Kaylee, Abby, Hayden, Everly, and Kenna; sisters Arlene Boudreau, Lois Reid (Bill), Barbara Rushworth and Deanna Ducey (Jarvis); sister-in-law Shirley Blizzard; several nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brothers: Harold and Robert Blizzard; and brother-in-law James Boudreau.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Tuesday, October 6 from 2-8 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Wickham Cemetery on Wednesday October 7 at 1:00 pm.
Remembrances in memory of Ruth may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424).
