Obituary for
Russell Vilmont Tremblay
Tremblay, Russell Vilmont “Frenchie” – Age 72, MacKay Siding, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 25, 2020 after a brief illness with cancer. Russell is survived by his son, Jesse Tremblay (Slawek); daughter, Micheline Gamble (Scott); granddaughters, Emma Gamble and Laura Gamble; his brother, Kenny (Bernadette) and many extended family members. Russell was predeceased by his wife, Arleen (McLean) and his parents, Gerard and Henriette Tremblay. He was born in Alma, QC and worked all across Canada before settling in Londonderry Mines, NS. Russell was a “Jack of all trades,” though he worked most of his life as a heavy-duty mechanic and in construction. He and his family moved to Hilden in the early 90’s and then finally to Stewiacke River Park, MacKay Siding, where he resided for the remainder of his life and was caretaker of the park. Russell had a love of animals, antiques and riding his motorcycle with his biking friends. He will be missed by many extended family members in Quebec and the Maritimes and by his loyal companion, Honey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at his request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In his memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Colchester S.P.C.A. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
