Gail Rumsey passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the age of 53 years in Stony Plain AB after a six year fight with breast cancer.
Gail was born in Rimbey on November 22, 1966 to Kay and Dave Rumsey, the youngest of eight children. She grew up on the family farm west of Bluffton and attended school in both Bluffton and Rimbey. She was a horse lover and had a nice pony, Fleetfoot, that she competed with in gymkhanas and various horse shows around the area. As she was growing up, she and her parents started spending their summers on the B Race Track where Gail had many adventures and acquired many life-long friends. She loved her children and enjoyed spending time with them and gave every opportunity in life she could that made her happiest in life. After going to Devries College, she started her banking career and at the time of her passing, she was the Assistant Manager at the ATB in Stony Plain, AB.
Gail will be missed as a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend by all who knew her as beautiful gentle soul. She is survived by her husband, Steve Hargas and her children: son Justin Robinson; daughter, Sydney Robertson and son, Noah Carter. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Bruce (Janet) Rumsey; sister Sharon Humbke and brother, Roger (Donna) Rumsey. She was a beloved Auntie to many nieces and nephews.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, Kay and Dave Rumsey; three brothers: Paul, Rex and Richard Rumsey as well as her sister-in-law Lynda Rumsey.
A special thank you to her sister, Sharon Humbke; daughter Sydney and niece Paulette Plumber for their loving care in Gail’s final days, we cannot thank you enough.
There will be no service at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions. A Memorial Service will be held when it is safe to do so.
