It is with heavy hearts that the family of the Late Ruby Gillam announce her passing on Monday, April 13, 2020 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 90 years.
She will be forever loved and missed by her children: Wendell (Karen), Donald (Susan), Myra (Gene) Pawlett; grandchildren: Ann (Jeff), Stirling (Carla), Melissa, Darren (Meghan), Damon (Diana), Kyle (Jennifer), Candice (Nick), Chad (Marla); great-grandchildren: Damien, Ayden, Sophie, Kate, Cole, Dane; brother Jerry (Mary) Hulan; sisters: Vivian Brake, Pearl Hulan, Una (Don) Gillam as well as many nieces, nephews other family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Roy; eldest daughter Althea; brothers: Jim, Rodney, Ellis, George and sister Elvena.
Ruby was very involved in, and committed to her community. She was an active member of the ACW, Alter Guild and a life long member of the Three Rivers Lion’s Club.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Dwyer and the staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their kindness and compassion towards mom during her short stay. Also a huge thank you to the staff of the Crosswinds Seniors Resort for all their help during the time Mom lived there.
Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena, NL. The funeral service and inurnment will take place in the Anglican Cemetery, McKay’s, NL on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. with The Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a Charity of Ones’ Choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
