Ruby’s Obituary
Myrtle Caines (nee Chaffey) originally from Cow Head passed peacefully away in her sleep on Wednesday December 9th, 2020 in her 79th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 3 children; Florence McNaughton of Cheltenham, ON., Terry (Trudy) Caines of Reidville, NL. and Lenora (John) Macey of Labrador City, NL.. 8 grandchildren; Lance, Nikita, T.J., Natasha, Christopher, Ashley, Veronica and Tyson. 13 great-grandchildren; Breanna, Zachary, Charlie, Ariella, Maleah, Hailey, Brycen, Jonathan, Jordan, Jacey, Jade Ryder and Charlotte and 1 great-great granddaughter Scarlett. Her only sister Betty Loveys of Clarenville. Her in-laws; Aubrey & Dora Caines, Gerald &Judy Caines, Viola Payne, Diana Payne, Loretta & Bill Payne. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents John and Lenora Chaffey , parents in law Selby and Lucy Caines, her brother’s in law; Les Loveys, Greavett Payne and Austin Payne and her ex-husband Vandor Caines.
Originally from Musgravetown, Bonavista Bay mom moved to Belldowns Point in 1964 to teach and stayed there. She raised her family there until moving to Cow Head where she resided until she went to live in a senior home, at first in St. Anthony and later to port Saunders. A special thank you to the Drs., nurses and her care givers at Port Saunders Hospital. Gone but never forgotten, we love you mom!
The family will be receiving family and friends on Friday December 11th , 2020 at St. Mary’s the Virgin, Anglican Church in Cow Head from the hours of 4 to 9pm and Saturday December 12th from 10am to 12 pm. also where the funeral service will take place at 2pm on Saturday with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Internment will follow at the family plot in the Cow Head Anglican Cemetery.
