Obituary of Roy T. Vopni
The Reverend Canon Roy T. Vopni
Korean War Veteran
Roy peacefully left to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 22nd, 2020 in his 89th year.
Roy was the beloved husband of A. Ferne Stetson, father of Ron (Deb) of Thunder Bay, Garry (Joan) of Kanata, Jim (Marg) of Kitchener. Roy leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces. Roy is predeceased by his parents Gus and Alice, brothers Duncan, Bill and Art and sisters Kae, Kris, Mary and Thora.
Roy lived a full life. He was a decorated Korean War Veteran, joined the Church Army in 1968, was Chaplin at Millhaven Penitentiary, and was ordained an Anglican Priest in 1975.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Providence Care Hospital where Roy spent his final days.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
There will be a private family service held at a later date.
