Rosaline Marie Amirault, age 91 affectionately known as
“Gwen” of the former Gwen’s Diner, Middle East
Pubnico, died January 20, 2020 in Nakile Home for Special Care,
Argyle. Born in Lower East Pubnico, she was a daughter of
the late Edgar and Febronie (Muise) Amiro. She is survived
by her daughters; Gwen (Kevin) Grant, Oakfield, NS, Marlene (Bobby)
Smith and Kathy (Gilles) Bourque, both of Middle East Pubnico,
brothers; Clarence (Wanda) and Clifford, both of Lower East Pubnico,
sisters; Marjorie Comeau, Halifax, Eloise Forrest, Lower Sackville,
Shirley Belliveau, Lower East Pubnico and Sharon Belliveau, Lower West
Pubnico, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides
her parents she was predeceased by her husband François
Amirault and a sister Barbara. Visitation will be in the
West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico, Wednesday, January 22,
2020 from 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held
Thursday, January 23rd at 11am in the
Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Middle East Pubnico with
Fr. Cyrille Assihou officiating. Interment will be in the
parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the
Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund, East Pubnico Fire Department or
to a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West

As a young girl, she helped in her father’s store and worked
as a waitress in various restaurants. She operated Gwen’s Diner for 48
years. Mom loved to sing, to dance, play Bingo and loved to have a
good yarn with her customers.
