Ronald’s Obituary
Ronald Earle Scott, 81, of Bedford and Heather Beach, died peacefully on May 4, 2020 in the QEII Hospital, Infirmary Site. Ron lived a life full of diverse experiences, and served in the military for 28 years, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer in 1982. He particularly enjoyed his final assignment in Burbank, California as a member of the testing and acceptance team for the Aurora aircraft. After his military retirement, he worked with a division of IMP in Halifax, followed by Canadian Marconi in Ontario and Seagull Pewter in Pugwash. Ron took great pride in and pleasure from his many Masonic activities as well as his work as a member of the Cumberland Health Authority following his return to Nova Scotia. After his last retirement, he and his wife, Doreen (Leadbetter), enjoyed spending long summers in their cottage and warm winters in Florida, a pattern they continued for 16 happy years. Ron was born in Pugwash, Nova Scotia on July 31, 1938, the only child of Earl and Lois (Little) Scott, who predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, his three children, Ronna (Roy) Mosher, Alexander (Li) Scott and Allison (Mike) Callaghan, and his five granddaughters and two grandsons. Arrangements have been entrusted to MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Oxford (902-447-2930). There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time because of the COVID-19 assembly restrictions. A family burial service will take place during the summer. Condolences may be sent to the family by viewing the funeral home website at www.mmcfunerals.com.
