Ronald “Ron” Baker
1946-2020
It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of our beloved husband and father Ronald
“Ron” Baker, age 74, of River
Hebert. Ron passed away unexpectedly in Lower Cove on
Friday, November 27, 2020.
Born April 18th, 1946 and raised an only
child on a rural farm in Athol, he started school in a one room school
house where his mom was the teacher. A good student, he developed an
aptitude for mechanics and a love of cars.
He met Beth in high school, they were
married in 1965, and the adventure began. Ron was always on the go
with Beth by his side, and what a ride it was. They had
their family and took many others into their fold along the way,
treating them like family.
Ron loved anything with wheels and owned
countless vehicles from snowmobiles and the Harley trike, antique cars
and trucks to his beloved Peterbuilt.
More than anything Ron loved life and
cherished his family and friends. He was kind, loyal and passionate
and would do anything for anyone at anytime. He had a strong
sense of community and generously donated to any and every cause or
those in need. Although he was a man of few words, If you
were willing to listen he had a good story to tell you.
To his peers, he was “the go to
guy”, a font of knowledge and information. He never
stopped and was always looking ahead to the next project with a road
trip or two in between.
He will be dearly missed by his loving
family, wife Beth, children Alan (Rebecca), Heather (Robert) Hoeg,
Sandra (Craig) Martin. Loving Papa to “The Baker
Boys”; Owen & Mac Baker, Alex Hoeg, Wylie &
Arran Martin; as well as brothers-in-law Alan & Fred Richards,
sisters-in-law Charlene Greer & Margaret (Brian) Bentley and
many nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Wylie
& Marguerite (Milberry) Baker and brother David in
infancy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the
