Ronald’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one while surrounded by his wife and family, at his home in St. Stephen’s, St. Mary’s Bay, Ronald “June” Joseph Fleming, aged 68 years. Predeceased by parents Ronald (Sr.) & Clara Fleming, brothers Bernard “Ben” and infant brother Sylvester, brother-in-law Thomas Molloy, special lifelong friend Frank Hayward, parents-in-law Ronald & Zita Molloy and Bobby Folger & Carroll Young. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 48 years, Angela (nee Scott/Molloy); sons: Sylvester (Rose), Dwayne (Darlene) and Mervin; his precious grandchildren whom he adored: Matthew, Francis, Stacey, Abigail, Hannah, Natalia and Rebecca; sisters: Irene Molloy, Bernice Butler (Dermot), Philomena Wall (Gus), Viola Ward (Michael) and Mary Power (Glen), brother Harold Fleming (Denise), special aunts: Bridgie Fleming, Frances “Fan” Fleming and Beatrice Moriarity, sisters-in-law Maureen Fleming and Marilyn Molloy, mother-in-law Ann Folger, Denver, CO, USA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tony (Evelyn) Scott, St. John’s, NL, George Penrod (Marie), Robert Penford (Jayne), Michael Penrod (Jonni K), John Penrod (Gloria), Bill Penrod (Lisa) and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Young family, all living in the USA, Godchildren Karolyn Fleming and Kelly Pippy Vikraman and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including his exceptional homecare workers Bernadette and Marilyn. During the years “June” worked as a heavy equipment operator he met many people and made numerous friends, including Doug Cleary who was very dear to his heart and will always hold a special place in ours. A special thank you to all those who were there and helped us during his illness and passing, especially Dr. Thomas McGarry, NP Kimberly Roberts Pennell, who became a dear friend, nurses Charlotte Bidgood, Ashley Careen and all other doctors, nurses and staff of Eastern Health, including the medical clinics in St. Mary’s and Trepassey, who took care of him over the years, to Todd Squires and staff of St. Mary’s Pharmacy, to Gibbons’ Ambulance Service, to our parish priest Fr. Steve Courtney and Fr. Roche, Fr. Jose and Fr. Peter for all your prayers, visits and spiritual guidance and to my many other priest friends and their staff for your prayers and support. Cremation has taken place with funeral arrangements to be announced at a later time.
The warm heartedness of our many family and friends was greatly appreciated. We faced each day with hope during our journey through COVID and you walked with us each step of the way – God Bless you all and STAY SAFE.
