Death Notice
Ronald George Bartram (93 years young) passed away comfortably at University Hospital in London Ontario on April 30 2020 at 3:10 pm. Ron was a victim of Covid-19 but he stayed strong until the end. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife Joyce (Biss) of almost 60 years of marriage and his first granddaughter Sasha (Steve). Ron is survived by his children: Angela (Clive), London; Nigel (MaryLynn) Ilderton; his grandchildren Tabitha (Nathan), Kyle (Nikki) and Carly (Kevin) and his great grandson Jacob (“Red Dog Leader”) and his great granddaughter Addison (“Score another goal for Bampi”) and his sister Vilma (Harold) Seer in Wales.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all his relatives in Canada and in Wales & England. Ron was a proud and active member of the Guards Association and will be fondly remembered by all his fellow Welsh Guards (Cymru Am Byth). Ron and Joyce were baptized at Byron Community Church and attended until his mobility became an issue. Ron was visited regularly by Pastor John at both Grandwood Retirement Home and later at Henley Place. Ron’s bible will become a family treasure.
Ron was born in Newport, S. Wales in 1926 and proudly served as a Welsh Guard in the British Army in Palestine during WWII. Ron, his wife Joyce, daughter Angela and son Nigel emigrated from S. Wales to Canada in 1969. Made in Wales and “aged” in Canada – Ron and Joyce loved their adopted home and visited many parts of Canada. Ron & Joyce couldn’t resist visiting their homeland – each time reacquainting with old friends and family and re-energizing their memories of times well spent during their youth and young adult lives. A saying that is well suited to Ron is “You can take the Boy out of Wales but you can’t take Wales out the Boy!” As a strong presence in his family’s life Ron will be greatly missed by all.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ronald George Bartram 2020..
