Obituary of Rodney Wayne Bjornson
Rodney Wayne Bjornson passed away on January 6, 2020 at the age of 43, in Fairview, AB surrounded by loved ones and family after his long fight with cancer. He was born October 3, 1976. Rodney graduated from Hines Creek High School in 1995. He worked at Hines Creek UFA for Ernie Brauer. Rodney met Megan Walmsley in 2001, they welcomed their daughter Harleey Bjornson May 12, 2006 and were married at the Hines Creek Hall August 23, 2008. 2007 Rod and Megan purchased the Hines Creek UFA and opened R&M Tire Service, in 2009 they purchased the Worsley UFA. With a growing business and space needed in 2009 Rod & Megan purchased Basnett Trucking shop and moved their business there. Rodney believed in being involved in his community. He was a long time member of the Hines Creek Fire Department, Hines Creek Golf Course Board of Directors and Hines Creek Rec Board.
Rodney is survived by his wife Megan Bjornson and daughter Harleey Bjornson. Mother Cindy Campbell and husband Dee Campbell. Father Wayne Bjornson and wife Linda Basnett. Brother Cody Bjornson, wife Dawn Bjornson and children Tristan & Kadyen. Stepbrother Owen Campbell, wife Suzy and children Payton, Waylen. Marissa and Maverick. Stepsister Megan and husband Willy Hayduk. Grandpa Bill Basnett.
Rodney is predeceased by Sister Penny Bjornson, Grandma Evelyn Basnett, Grandpa Roy and Grandma Carol Bjornson. Uncles Glen, Vern, and Ross Basnett and Aunt Birdie Basnett. Uncle Larry Bjornson and Aunt Bernice Mason.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 11, 2020 at 2pm at the Dave Shaw Memorial Complex with a time of fellowship to follow immediately after.

Just found out about Rodneys passing. I sold tires to RM for years and always enjoyed my stop at Rodneys shop. Upfront straightforward and a real gentleman. RIP
