Rodney passed away suddenly at home on July 13th, 2020 at the age of 65. Born July 21st, 1954 at Yorkton Regional Hospital, Yorkton Sask. Rodney was the younger of two brothers and leaves his brother Richard of Victoria. He also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss him.
Rod and his family moved to Victoria in 1965. He attended Doncaster Elementary, Lansdowne Junior High, and Mt. Douglas High School where he graduated in 1972. Rod and his brother lost their parents, Fred and Merle, in a motor vehicle accident in October 1969. Rod enjoyed nature and spent a great deal of time in his younger years hiking local trails. He volunteered at the Canadian Cancer Society as well as several other places.
In 1979 Rodney committed his life to Jesus and became very active with the Christadelphian Church in Victoria. He enjoyed creating biblical crosswords for others’ enjoyment. Rod also spent a lot of time on his computer researching the news and many other topics, listening to music and keeping in touch with friends and relatives.
There will be an open casket viewing on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, between 6:30 and 8:30 pm. Rod will be buried at Royal Oak Burial Park on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in a private service due to COVID restrictions.
