Obituary of Roderick Parsons
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Roderick Parsons announces his passing on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 86. Born in Rose Blanche he was the son of the late James and Jessie (nee Hardy) Parsons. Roderick leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Cecil Parsons (Charlene Blackmore), Verna (Claude) Billard, Donna Parsons, Bonita (Craig Rodgers), Denise Parsons (Mike Saulnier) and Troy (Sue)Parsons, grandchildren, Lori (Danny) Wilson, Cody Parsons (Savannah Osmond), Daniel Billard, Blaine Parsons, Keelan Saulnier, and Logan Phillips, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Cayleigh Osmond, Mia Wilson, and Dillian and Melody Billard, brothers and sisters, Cecil (Dorothy) Parsons, Mildred Osmond, Carl Parsons, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Frank (Doreen), Phyllis Pearce, Stan (Grace) Ellis, Queen (Rick) Lillington and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Roderick was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Parsons, son-in-law, Justin Kidd, brothers and sisters, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. The family will receive relatives and friends at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques, Saturday, January 18 from 7:00- 9:00 pm and Sunday, January 19 from 2:00 -4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service taking place on Monday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating, interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
