It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robin Spence announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his family at his home in Deer Lake on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the age of 68 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 42 years Valerie (nee Hillier); children: Stephen (Nadine) Spence, Deer Lake, Matthew (Suzy) Spence, Vancouver and Sarah (Aaron) Lewis, Halifax; 2 precious grandchildren: Evan and Addison Spence; brother Danny (Myra) Spence; sisters: Mollie Spence and Anne (Tom) Yetman; sister-in-law Donna Davis (Dan Ball); nieces and nephews: Danielle, Kenneth, Joshua, Jacob, Dustin, Nicholas, Shane, Carolyn, Heather and Danielle; special friends Craig Bugden and Carl Patey; as well as a large circle of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Betty Spence, sister Catherine Spence, baby brother Kenneth Spence, parents-in-law Clarke and Daisy Hillier, brother-in-law Elvis Davis. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Friday, January 10 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Deer Lake with Majors Wayne and Betty-Ann Pike officiating. Interment to follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to Deer Lake Regional Food Bank or the David C. Ball Memorial Fund.
