Obituary
Peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home surrounded by family, Roberta Frances (Wadman) Frost passed away on June 17, 2020. She was born on January 20, 1932 in Glace Bay, NS, to the late Charles and Margaret (Sturgess) Wadman and was the loving wife for 54 years to her husband, Eugene Frost, who passed away in 2017.
Roberta was an amazingly resilient woman. She was born with sight and hearing, but at the age of 6 lost both of those senses and it did not stop her at all. She was educated at the Halifax School for the Deaf and at the Amherst School for the Deaf where she made lifelong friends with teachers and students alike. She could not see, but she could weave a perfect pattern on a loom. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her cranberry loaf was the most wonderful bread you would ever taste. She was incredibly independent, and even when her husband went into a nursing home, she still stayed in her own apartment typing letters to her friends and family and reading on her own, with the help of caregivers, who were all exceptionally caring ladies. She was an avid reader, even up until the end. Bobby was a very sweet and kind lady, who was a little spunky but very smart. She kept her friends and family close to her and was very well respected and well liked by everyone who knew her. She lived a long life, but she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Sandra Clark, Quita Wadman, Noreen Wadman and Dolores McIssac; sisters-in-law, Mary Thorne and Shan Wadman; niece Elaine Hooper and nephew, Kelsy Wadman as well as several nieces and nephews and special friend, Lois Coffey.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd “Sunny” Wadman, Kerry Wadman and Charles “Butch” (Shirley) Wadman; sister Shirley (Larry) Larsen and brother-in-law, Jack McIssac.
Roberta’s family would like to take this time to extend a very special thank you to Bobbi’s first caregiver, Michelle (Tyler). They became very close friends and could be seen on their mostly daily walks about town, visiting the local mall and of course, enjoying Tim’s coffee, to Rocmaura Nursing Home, specifically Hopewell Court which has been her home for the last few years, for the kindness and compassion and care they have given to her over the years and to Forest Hills Baptist Church where Roberta (and her late husband) were active members, thoroughly enjoying their church families, services and activities.
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Due to the ongoing pandemic, funeral services will be held at a later date followed by a private family interment at the Second Falls Cemetery on Route 770 in Second Falls, NB. Memorial Donations can be placed towards a charity of your choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Roberta Frances Wadman Frost January 20 1932 June 17 2020 (age 88)..
