Robert’s Obituary
In with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Nathaniel Phillips on Tuesday April 7, 2020 in the comfort of his own home. Beloved husband and best friend of Kelly (nee. Kadwell). Forever loved father of Lauryn and Luke. Cherished son of Nancy ‘Bunny’ Phillips and the late Robert Phillips (2014). Remembered by brother Jeremy (Martine), Graeme and Claire.
Rob was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years and was the Deputy District Chief of the Airport Hall Station Two. He was also an active member of the Brantford Aquatic Club, first a swim Dad and fan and then as a dedicated Swim Official, eagerly gaining certifications and spending countless hours volunteering. Rob will also be missed by his co-workers at TMMC in Cambridge where he was a group leader.
Our dad was an inspiration, a hero, hilarious, supportive and loving. Our fondest memories of our outstanding Dad were our lunch picnics at school and fires at our cottage. Words cannot express the gratitude our family has for all of the love and support given to us over this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Marcus Butler and the team at Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Barbara Heller, Dr. Maurice Voss and Dr. Ved Tanden at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a private family visitation will be held. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life for Rob will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund being established for Rob’s children Lauryn and Luke. Please contact the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home next week for details on the trust fund. Online condolences may be made at www.budgellfuneralhome.ca
Tomorrow is never guaranteed, give thanks for the blessing of today.
