Robert Mercure
1957 ~ 2020
Robert Mercure passed away on July 7, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 63 years old. He was living in Moncton. Born in Baie-Ste-Anne on January 11, 1957, he was the son of Arilda Manuel and late Odilon Mercure.
Besides his partner, Jeannette, Robert leaves to mourn two sons, Mathieu (Britney) and Mario; two step-sons: Alex et Nicholas; three grandsons that he loved deeply, Osias, Oscar and Octave; six brothers, Ovila, Gérard (Lynn), Rosaire (Kathleen), Roger, Paul (Kim) and Marcel (Beverly); five sisters, Noëlla (Doug), Jacqueline (François), Ernestine (Louis), Antoinette (Claude) and Elisa (Sylvain); several nieces and nephews, Tammy (Bryan), Andy (Christine), Carole (Marco), Marie-Josée (Luc), Daniel (Kelsey), Mélanie (Julien), Pierre (Matt), Gaston (AJ), Samuel (Frédérique), Chase (Jade) et Sébastien; several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was predeceased by his father, late Odilon, and his goddaughter , late Colette (Stéphane).
Robert was a very proud dad, dedicated and patient. His greatest pride was his sons and grandchildren(his « pitous »), who loved their Grandpa Mercure. Robert was a hard working man who was well respected by his colleagues. He was a courageous man, helpful, determined and faithful. He had a solitary side and a sensitive and sweet side. He loved nature, gardening, hunting, singing and playing his guitar. We remember all the happiness that he gave us when he was singing at holidays and family gatherings. He always had a great joie de vivre. His greatest passion remained his family and his partner Jeannette, with who he spent his lastest years enjoying the pleasures of life . We will always remember Robert being a big-hearted man with an endless love for others. Thank you for teaching us these great values and being part of our lives. We will see you again one day.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel in Moncton (625 Mountain Road, corner West Lane), on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 9am until time of the funeral service at 11am.
If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about Robert’s demise. We went back very far all the way to the ’70’s. His brother Ovila and I worked together at he Moncton Hospital. Had the pleasure of meeting Robert along with various other family members. Great memories and good times. Robert could make any one laugh. Going to miss you buddy. We’ll catch up much later on in the sweet by and by.
My deepest condolences to Ovila and Robert’s family.
