Obituary
Robert (Bob) Marr passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 29, 2020. Bob was born in Saint John to his parents Annie and Harry Marr on February 22, 1939.
Bob is survived by his wife Anne, children Paula (John) Shea, Alison Marr, step-sons Stephen Faulder and Barry Faulder; grandchildren Keeley and Kaitie Shea, Nick Faulder, as well as brother Doug (Catherine) Marr. Bob was pre-deceased by his son, Clayton and brothers Raymond and Murray.
Bob was self-employed as a business machine service technician and was the original owner of Pipers Pub. Bob was an accomplished drum major with the Heather Legion Pipe Band and a piper with the Caledonian Pipe Band. In 1979, Bob led the massed bands as drum major, in the Halifax Tattoo to salute “Her Majesty” the Queen Mother celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. Bob spent many years teaching and assisting with tenor drumming for local pipe bands.
Special thanks go out to the nurses of Extra-Mural and, all the health care professionals that assisted with his care. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations can be made to the Simonds Lions Caledonian Pipe Band or the donors choice. Arrangements have been made by Fundy Funeral Home.
