Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert “Bob” Charles Mitchell which occurred unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020. Born 1931, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Charles Ogg and Marion (Lee) Mitchell. As a Member of Union Local 213, Bob worked in Construction as a Pipe Fitter at the Saint John Shipbuilding. He was the Light House Keeper at Cape Spencer and he enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, hunting and golfing. Bob was arm chair coach to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. Family was most important to him and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife Geraldine (Organ) of 64 years; brother Gordon “Bud” Mitchell (Mary) of Saint John; sisters Dorothy Boddington (Fred) of Saint John, Patricia Mitchell of Saint John; daughter-in-law Pamela Mitchell (Charles Belliveau) of Fredericton; grandchildren Christopher (Shannon), Catherine and Caitlyn; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son Michael, brother Billy and sisters Agnes, Marion, Jean, Lena, Betty and Edna.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, February 29th at 9:30 a.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
