One of eleven children born to Mary (nee Corcoran) and Jack Squires of Signal Hill, St. John’s, Bob grew up proud of his family and his humble beginnings on “the hill”.
Predeceased by his parents, sister Marie Greeley and brother John.
Bob leaves to mourn his loving wife of 47 years, “Kitchie” Catherine (nee Angel); daughter Nancy (Jaime Huggett); sons: Robert (Carla Major), Gregory, Matthew (Catherine Burridge) and Mark. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his “Little Buddy” and only grandson, Liam Squires-Huggett. Also leaving to mourn his siblings: Anne Burke, Sadie James, Gerald, Danny, Mike, Kevin, Barb, Brenda Hibbs and their families; brothers-in-law Bob Angel, Gerry Angel (deceased), Pat Angel and John Angel; sister-in-law Anna Woolgar (deceased) and their families; niece Reeni Woolgar and her family; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob retired from Molson Brewery after a 40-year career with the company and devoted his life and spare time to his family, of whom he was so proud. His friendliness, generosity and wisdom were incomparable, he was an inspiration to anyone who knew him.
A sincere thank you is extended to the fabulous, unwavering staff at Bob’s Dialysis Unit for providing the best care over the past 10 years! How many cups of tea is that?!
Cremation has taken place. A service and celebration will be announced at a later date.
A donation in Bob’s memory may be made to his respected Dialysis Clinic (Topsail Road Kidney Care Centre) at www.healthcarefoundation.ca
