Ritchie Barry Cooke
1957-2020
The passing of Ritchie Barry Cooke, husband of Nancy (Hooper) Cooke of
L’Etete NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John
NB on December 19, 2020. Born in St. Stephen NB on March 7, 1957, he
was a son of Phyllis E. Cooke and the late Hugh H. Cooke. A loving
husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife,
Nancy, Ritchie is survived by his children: Rodney Cooke (Samantha) of
Bocabec NB and Nicki Cooper (Jonathan) of L’Etang NB; his pride and
joy, his beloved grandchildren: Cadence Lynn, Chase, Noah, Ryder,
Taylor and Clara; his mother: Phyllis Cooke of Back Bay NB; siblings:
Franklin Cooke (Penny) of Back Bay NB, Vicki Lynn Cooke (Eric) of Back
Bay NB and Starr Cooke (Mike) of Mascarene NB; several nieces, nephews
and cousins. In addition to his father, Ritchie was predeceased by one
brother: Jamie Cooke; one sister: Hope Cooke; and a niece: Candy Jill
Cooke.
Ritchie was employed with Cookes Aquaculture in St. George. He loved
living his life to the fullest and enjoyed spending his free time
hunting and fishing. A true family man, he lived his life for his
children and his grandchildren, who were his whole world. Ritchie had
a smile and laugh that would light up every room he entered and he had
a heart of gold, always willing to lend a hand when needed. He was a
member of the Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay and he will be
sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Monday from 10:00 am until 12:00
pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be
held at the church on Monday at 2:00 pm followed by the interment at
Crow Island Cemetery, Back Bay NB. In Ritchie’s memory, donations to
the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by
the family.
