Rita Meier 2020

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Rita Meier on Monday, April 27, 2020. Rita died peacefully at home in Sherbrooke Community Centre. She is survived by her children: Dale (Christine), Glenn (Deb Klym), John L. (Barb), Mark (Dawn Abbott), Daphne Dellezay (Henry); her precious granddaughters Hannah (fiancé Nathan Street) and Katie; brother-in-law Kasper Bachman, nieces and nephews.
Rita was predeceased by her husband Leo; parents Karl and Margaret Keller; brother Ed and sister-in-law Yvonne Keller; brother-in-law Mike Meier; sister-in-law Dorothy Bachman. Rita was born on December 7, 1936 at Leipzig, SK. She worked for a period of time in North Battleford, and married Leo on May 14, 1960. With family starting, Rita took care of the household. Since Leo’s career took the family all over the province, Rita made sure the house and family ran smoothly.
Rita loved to garden and was an awesome cook. She loved to grow flowers and did lots of canning and preserving.
Rita had a strong faith, which she passed onto her children. She was also a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League. In 1985 Rita and Leo retired and the house at Floral was built and the family moved there. Leo and Rita resided there until moving into Sherbrooke Community Centre in 2018.
Memorial donations may be made to: Sherbrooke Foundation 401 Acadia Dr, Saskatoon SK. S7H 2E7. The family wishes to thank Sherbrooke for the care provided especially by House 7 Staff; you all became our extended family. We wish to thank all of Sherbrooke staff for their love and kindness to our whole family. You made us feel like Sherbrooke was home to all of us.
A funeral service will be held at a later date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Rita Meier 2020..
