It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rita Lynn Mohrbutter on December 25, 2020 in Regina, Saskatchewan at the age of 48 years old.
She will be greatly missed by her sons Wyatt William Buzuk and Owen James Buzuk; cherished sister to Rhonda (Brad), Lisa (Dennis), Denise (Daryl), Peter, Wayne (Saffarah) and Brian along with her step-father Edward Peterson. Rita was predeceased by her father Dennis Mohrbutter, mother Mary Peterson and grandparents.
Rita had a very strong bond with her nieces and nephews and will be forever missed by Ashley, Darby, Jamie, Brittany, Carlie, Shane, Joshua, Jayden and Dennis. Rita had a special place in her heart for her great-nieces and great-nephews Zayda, Kyrinn, Caylex and Maury; her two dogs Ozzie and Oscar that gave her hope and companionship.
Rita was born in Hay River, Northwest Territories on December 18, 1972 to Dennis and Mary Mohrbutter and came home to three adoring sisters. She grew up in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Lloydminster, Alberta and then moved on to spend many years in Surrey, British Columbia. She worked in the retail field while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the mountains.
Rita than made the decision to move back to Lloydminster, Alberta where she met the father of her children Vince and settled down into family life. She worked in the administration field and had two amazing sons. When her father passed away, she moved to Regina, Saskatchewan to be with her mother and sisters. She continued to work in the administration field. Her career ended early when she suffered through a serious back infection and was rendered unable to work due to that debilitating pain.
Rita lived a quiet simplistic life. She loved being outside tending to her flowers, listening to crime pod casts, reading up on all the news events of the world, loving and caring for her two fur babies Ozzie and Oscar and visiting with her close-knit family.
Rita leaves behind a legacy of being the greatest story teller, she was genuine but sugar coated nothing. She loved to laugh and would share that laughter with any stranger that was willing to listen. We will miss her red lipstick kisses as she loved her red lipstick and never went anywhere without it. We all loved her so very much and we will never forget her strength and courage to live with the pain she had been handed, her wit, charm, compassion for the less fortunate and unconditional love to her family and the creator.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Carmichael Outreach would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Rita Lynn Mohrbutter December 25th 2020..
