Rita Glynn nee Kelly

It’s with heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of our loved one Rita Glynn (nee Kelly) of Dover on April 4th, 2020 at James Paton Memorial Hospital. Due to circumstances, she passed away with family saying their goodbyes on FaceTime with the help of the nurses from the ICU.
Rita is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bridget Kelly, parents in law Paul and Jane Glynn, brothers Dominic Kelly and Gordon Kelly, sister Madonna Kelly, brother in law Stanley Collins and nephews Thomas Kelly and Andrew (Andy) Collins. She leaves to mourn her devoted and loving husband of 20 years Reginald
(Reggie) Glynn, son Gordie Kelly, brothers Lou (Joyce) Kelly of Hopedale, and Joe (Bonnie) Kelly of Wareham, sister Anne Collins of Hare Bay and sister in law Viola Keats of Glovertown. As well, her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who she loved like her own and a very large circle of extended family and friends.
Rita was a lady whose personality was as large as life. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed a good ol’ get together for some fun times. She was the life of the party and loved a good laugh and a good feed. Her greatest joy was her son, Gordie. With the help of her husband Reggie they provided him with the best care that they were able to. Times were often challenging but she was always content at her home on the hillside by the quiet of the cove.
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much.
Good friends, good times,
A loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me…
God wanted me now,
He set me free.
