Obituary of Richard Wayne Hayes

Peacefully, at his home, with his loving family at his side, Richard “Rick” Hayes of Shedden at the age of 72 on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Patty (O’Dea) Hayes, his son Nathan (Sheila) Hayes and his daughter Kelly (Paul) Shamoon.
Dear papa of Ava and Mia.
Rick was loved and will always be remembered by his siblings, in laws and cousins. Also survived by several nieces, nephews along with a long list of extended family.
Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Maude Hayes and his mother and father in law John and Elaine O’Dea.
Born in Simcoe, Rick was an avid handyman who helped build his retirement home, built furniture for family, enjoyed landscaping, detailing cars and riding motorcycles with family and friends.
Rick was a Tool and Die maker who started his career at Clevite Canada in 1966. In 1984 he began working at Presstran until his retirement in 2008.
He loved camping and spending time in Florida where he and Patty built a family of long friendships.
The family will celebrate Rick’s life privately but in honour of Rick, his family encourages you to celebrate the impact Rick had on you by sharing his story with your family.
