Obituary of Richard Leslie White
It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Richard Leslie White (Dick) on December 6, 2020 peacefully at home.
Born in Kingston November 2, 1940, Dick attended QECVI and KCVI, and after graduating from Queen’s University and the University of Waterloo taught in both Kingston and Ottawa. He will be greatly missed for his love of trivia, his exceptional memory and his love for his family and special friends.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife Carol (nee Lee), Kingston, his sister Joan and her husband Jean-Paul Boucher of Brockville, his sister-in-law Janice (Jan) White of Kingston, nieces and nephews: Michael Hanley (Jo-Anne), Laura Roobol (Harold),of Brockville, Tim White (Lauren), Leslie Harry (Simon) and Tanny White from Toronto plus his great-nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by Carol’s sisters Barbara (Charlie) Stewart and Janet Herold, her brother Bill Lee (Judy), and nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews on Carol’s side.
He is predeceased by his parents Leslie (Les) and Irene (Rene) White, his brother Gary (Jan) and Carol’s sister, Ruth Knox (Jack).
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at KGH, Dr.Tara McGregor at Queen’s Family Medicine, South East LHIN and all the staff at CBI Heath and their affiliates with special mention for his nurse, Tammy, for the excellent care they all gave Dick during his final journey.
Cremation has taken place and his family will hold a private Celebration of Life.
