Peacefully, after a courageous battle, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Treasured and devoted mother of Ian Kessner, Jill Kessner, and Carrie Kessner; and admired mother-in-law of Jaysen Cristofaro. Adored Grammy of Jordan, Jake and Hallie Sheftman; Ryder and Liv Cristofaro. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Allan and Sylvie Vosko, Elinor and Saul Skolnick, and the late Linda Vosko. Rhona will be sadly missed by Norman Kessner, as well as her nieces, nephews, family and many friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Drs. Moishe Liberman, Carmela Pepe and Marcia Gillman for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as to the entire staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General and Mount Sinai Hospitals. Special thanks to Rhona’s wonderful caregivers, Juve, Fely, Doris, Mildred, Ruby and Frances. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva at her home, Wednesday following burial until 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Rhona’s memory may be made to the Hope & Cope Fund c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
