1930-2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Raymond Meisner of
Aroostook, NB, announce his passing at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital
on April 2, 2020.
Raymond was born in Sydney Mines, NS, on November 18, 1930. He was the
son of the late Laurence and Leah (Mitchell) Meisner. Raymond leaves
behind his loving wife of 66 years, Eva Meisner (Porter); his
daughter, Debra Swazey (Brian) of Tilley, NB; his granddaughters,
Lynnette Sullivan (Kane) and Tina Brewer; his great grandchildren,
Nicholas Ruest and Jade Courtney Ruest; his sisters, Gwendolyn Rufus
of Chester, NS, Yvonne Harpell of Halifax, NS.
Raymond worked as a fisherman in Nova Scotia alongside his wife. They
fished cod, ground fish, and lobster. Raymond had a great love for
nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing trout, and snaring rabbits. He and
Eva built five different home together to live in. He enjoyed spending
time with his family and his many friends. He will be missed by
many.
Respecting Raymond’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
held.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the NB Heart and Stroke
Foundation, the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, or to the
Making a Difference Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
