Obituary of Ray Embertson
Embertson, Raymond (Ray) Leo passed away suddenly at the age of 58 on Jan 7, 2020.
Beloved husband and soulmate of 25 years to Krista Embertson, cherished father of Reaghan and Adam, dear son of the late Rita Lesperance (Cifra), step brother of Robert Cifra, dear son in law of the late Frances Forbes, brother in-law of Wendy Forbes, the late Dianne Hodgins, the late Darlene Morden.
He will be greatly missed by his work colleagues at Husky Energy and the various other companies he worked for over the years in Calgary, AB. From mailroom – Sr. Geophysical Tech. Ray was a passionate learner. He will be missed by his loving puppy Elly May. Ray was the adopted son of Rita and was the “Ray of Sunshine” in her life. Ray’s passion in life was his bicycles, books and garden. In his free time Ray was a very avid gardener, he completed many courses in Devon, AB and took part in every plant exchange he possibly could. This past December 31, he completed his cycling goal of 15,000 km and in Ray fashion he did 15,002 km. All his extra time was spent with his family, he lived every moment for his children and made sure they knew beyond anything that they were loved and cherished. Ray will leave a huge loss in our lives, he is greatly missed.
Ray was a dedicated father and husband first and foremost. Ray treasured his children and embraced every moment with them. Ray loved his role as father, it’s all he ever wanted to be. We as a family lost our best friend, our role models, a father and husband, smartest most kind person, you’d ever want to know.
