Ray and Marg moved to Penticton in 1992 and lived on the Penticton Golf Course’s 16th green and they left Penticton in 2015 to Nanaimo, to be closer and accessible to family, after 23 wonderful years there.
Ray worked in the printing ink and chemical field with Manton Brothers, Sinclair & Valentine, Canadian Fine Color and Reiger Ink. He also spent over 20 years with the P.N.E. as an usher for the Vancouver Canucks hockey team, then onto P.N.E. Security for special events etc. His claim to fame was when he was selected to accompany Mother Teresa for the day in the Coliseum, on her visit to Vancouver in 1988.
While living in Penticton, they spent many happy trips golfing in B.C. and Washington with a great group of golfing buddies. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grands.
Ray was involved with the Juvenile Soccer Association, after injuring his leg during play himself. He was also a great support for the youth in the community and neighborhood and also in Little League and Babe Ruth, and the Killarney Junior Band.
He will sadly be missed by all. Many thanks to the wonderful nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care Unit and Emergency Room, for their heartfelt care, and to the wonderful neighbours and friends, Greg, Helen, Jen & John & Dominic for coming to Ray’s aid, and to the Paramedics, when he tumbled and fell.
