Ralston’s Obituary
GARRON, Ralston Alpheus – 90, of East Baccaro, passed away in the Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, on September 13, 2020. Born in East Baccaro, January 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Roy Garron and the late Thelma (Smith) White. In the early 50s, he moved to Toronto in search of work, where he met the love of his life, Thelma Hutchens, who after 64 years of marriage, he lost last year. Ralston worked as a paramedic and drove an ambulance in Toronto with his best friend, John Whalley. He also worked dispatch for the ambulance until he decided to move back to his childhood home in 1980. He loved knitting socks and mittens for everyone and enjoyed watching all sports. He is survived by his sons, Steven (Denise), East Baccaro; David (Elaine), Grand Prairie; Mark (Nina), Edmonton; brothers, Ernest (Linda) White, Kenneth White; grandchildren, Lori (Dominique) Sousa, Florida; Kelly (Stephen) Goreham, Shelby (Logan) Garron-Murphy, Bradford (Crystal) Garron, Alberta; Ashley Garron, Aislinn, Cassidy, Braydon, Ceilidh Garron, Alberta; great-grandchildren, Keenan , Justice, Drake and Ryan Nickerson, Michael Garron; and newborn, Lyra Garron-Murphy. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma (Hutchens) Garron; brothers, Clements and Everette “Joe” Garron. Thanks to the nurses and doctors of Roseway Hospital for taking great care of Ralston in his final days. Thanks to John and Delores Whalley for all the visits before and after he lost Thelma. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be no service as per his request.
