Ralph Fielding Mills was born to Ralph H. and Marion (Fielding) Mills April 19, 1924. Sister Marion was born in 1926 and the next day Ralph’s mother passed away. In 1928 Mildred Pearl Musgrove married Ralph’s father. Brother Gordon was born to them in 1930.
Ralph attended school at Inglesfield and completed his grade eight after which he remained on the farm, NW 33-11-30. Ralph met his wife Bernice when she was working as a nurse in Maryfield. They were married at the Moosomin Baptist Church on October 16, 1967. After their marriage, Bernice joined Ralph on his farm north of Maryfield.
In 1981 they sold their farm and moved to Kelowna, B.C., where they resided for 23 years. They were active members of Lakeview Heights Baptist Church in Kelowna. It was there that Ralph was baptized as a public announcement that he had made the choice to give his life to Jesus. He had realized that he did in fact believe, he just hadn’t realized it before. During that time they took many trips together in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
In June of 2004 Ralph and Bernice moved back to Maryfield. After a short illness Bernice went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 29th, 2005.
Ralph remained in his home and mastered canning and many things that Bernice used to do. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking berries, and discussing history of the area. He found great pleasure in rescuing and reviving small engines which were headed to the dump. He could often be found puttering in his garage.
In 2017 Ralph moved into the Sunrise Villa
Ralph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernice Ilene (Gillett), parents, Ralph H. Mills, Marion (Fielding) and Mildred (Musgrove), brother, Gordon (Marie), and sister, Marion.
Ralph is survived by Audrey Mills, Lois (Albert) Rosom and numerous nephews and nieces.
Ralph was greatly loved and will be missed.
