Poirier – Georgina Eleanor “Jo”, 73, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital on Tuesday, August 25, 2020.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy and Charlie Dodge.
Jo served in the Royal Canadian Navy at CFB Shearwater, first as a telephone operator before working at base supply. She enjoyed working on her property, was well known locally for her gardening skills, she also enjoyed reading and cross stitching. She was a proud member of AA for many years. Jo was a caring woman with a warm loving heart.
Jo is survived by her loving companion William “Bill” Hartling; daughter, Michelle (Richard) Scott, of Jordan Falls; son, Danny Poirier, of Montreal, Quebec; grandchildren; Selina and Tyler; great-grandchildren Adrionna and Deon; sister, Elizabeth Dodge, of Aurora, Ontario.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., from Pine Rest Cemetery, Greenfield. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
