Obituary of Phyllis Marie Gallant
With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Phyllis Gallant announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Poodiac, NB on January 6, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Bernice (MacDonald) Brown and wife of the late Robert Gallant.
Phyllis was a woman of deep faith, and a long-time member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was a loving mother, and had a great affection for animals. She found peace in feeding the birds in her yard, and tending to her garden.
Phyllis will be missed by her children Mark Gallant and Kim Boone (George); her siblings Maurice Brown (Teresa), Doris McGinnis (the late Gerald), Helen Gallant (the late Urban) and Florence Enright (Lorne); brother-in-law Donnie Gallant (the late Alice) and sisters-in-law Nancy Northrop (the late Richard) and Anne Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was predeceased by her siblings Eldon Brown (Mary), Eddie Brown, Audrey Sands (Laurence) and Theresa Brown.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Due to the ongoing public health situation, Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating her life will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at a later date and interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
