1939-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Irene Tayes
announces her passing which occurred on September 2, 2020 at the Saint
John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born in Bloomfield, NB on
March 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Olive
(Webster) Mitchell.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Larry Hutchings of Saint John,
NB, Randy Tayes of BC, Leslie Tayes (Melinda) of Bloomfield, NB,
Margaret Rideout (Philip) of Southfield, NB, Patsy Lockhart (Hollis)
of East Scotch Settlement, NB and Kelly Tayes (Howard Green) of
Sus, NB; sisters: Ruby Mitchell of Hampton, NB and Joyce Alcorn
(Albert Noel) of Jacquet River, NB; brother-in-law Victor Mercer;
sister-in-law Joyce Mitchell; as well as many grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Phyllis
was predeceased by her loving husband Ronson Tayes; son Ronald
Hutchings; brothers: Vernon, Clarence, Royce, Earl and Donald
Mitchell; and sister Shirley Mercer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home
(506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, and will be held
privately. A private family interment will take place at Big Rock
Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB.
Donations in
memory of Phyllis may be made to the SPCA, Carma Sus for the love
of her cats or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
