1940 – 2020
Phung Duong (November 11, 1940 – October 21, 2020) passed peacefully in the care of the Palliative ward at St Boniface Hospital, after an eleven year battle with cancer. She will be missed dearly by her husband Mai, siblings Susan and John, children Xuan, Linh and Henry, and her grandchildren Andersen, Fysher, James and Miles.
Phung came to Winnipeg with her family seeking refuge from Vietnam in 1980. She worked tirelessly to help provide a better future for her family. She was a fan of travel, cooking, and spent as much time as she could looking after her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cancer Care Manitoba and the WRHA’s Palliative Care program, for their care, guidance, and compassion during her long journey.
