McBride, Philip Alexander “Big Phil” Owner of The Galley Fish and Chips, Port Perry. – Passed away peacefully at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 86. Philip will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Sylvia (Mrs Syl) of 60 years. Cherished father of Karen McBride of Flinton, Philip McBride (Tammy) of Whitby and Jason McBride (Kim) of Oakville. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Eric (Kirsten), Aidan, Rory, Evan, Lily and Andrew as well as great grandson Kaysen. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Louise McBride and siblings Jr McBride, Ruth MacDonald (Hazen), Jimmy McBride (Dorothy) and Gershy Nason. Big Phil and Mrs Syl owned and operated The Galley Fish and Chips in Port Perry from 1978 to 1994. The Galley was their passion and anyone who visited the restaurant could tell. Cremation has been performed and words of remembrance were said during the church service at Through The Roof Ministries, Flinton on Sunday, November 29, 2020. A Celebration of Phil’s Life will be held in Whitby at a later date and will be taken home to his place of final rest in Richmond Corner, New Brunswick.
