Peter’s Obituary
Black, Peter Michael-70, of Shelburne, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 21, 2020. Born in Middleton he was a son of the late Walter and Enid (Rogerson) Black. Peter was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Peter was a chef! He opened up the “Steak and Stein” in Halifax and he was the chef at the Old School House Restaurant in Barrington Passage. Peter also worked as a fisherman, working on the Coast Guard, Gypsum boats , and off shore oil rigs. He was also a welder at Shelburne Marine , but his true passion was a long haul truck driver for the sum of 25 years. Peter was an avid reader and he loved to read war history and watch Deadliest Catch and war movies. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved family barbecues, but most of all Peter loved Christmas eve and he always put on a big spread for his family. Peter is survived by his wife Lynn of 39 years; daughters, Amy (Vince); Holly (Jody); Adrienne (Brian); son, Dana (Wendy); grandchildren, Kenny (Char); Timothy, Sheri, Jeremy and Savoirse; one great-grandchild; sisters, Eunice (Don); Jill (John); Monica as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium. At Peter’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time.
