Peter’s Obituary
Peter Franczak was born in Stuttgart, Germany on January 20th, 1953. Peter immigrated to Canada in January of 1956, arriving in Red Lake on January 24th.
He worked at Codville and McLeod’s Transportation driving bus until 1986. He then started a 32 year long career at Campbell Mine, where in his later years he became a trainer, sharing his experience with a new generation of miners. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for fishing, hunting and spending time in the bush. He also had a love for riding his motorcycle. All of these activities he especially enjoyed sharing with family and close friends.
He spent many hours cataloging his coin collection, journaling everything from weather, fishing stories, hunting stories etc. and spending as much time as possible with his grand-daughters, Payson and Clara
He is predeceased by his parents, Adam & Luise, siblings, Rudolf, Christina and Marie-Luise.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda, his three children, Daphne (Corinna), Derek (Jennifer) and Dayna (Kory). His grandchildren, Payson, Clara, Emma and Lily. Also his fur-kids, Keishka and Diesel and his many fur-grandkids, Heidi, MooMoo, Seger, Gauge, Jackie Chan, George and Maverick.
He is also survived by his 9 siblings, Carol, Irmgard (Mel), Albin, Doris (Fern), David (Debbie), Alfred (Anna), Reinhard (Ozellia), Robert (Saneepree), Jennifer (Mike). And his many nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
