Peter Gerald Edwards
1954-2020
It is with great sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of Peter Gerald
Edwards, age 65, of Joggins, NS. Peter passed
away at the Halifax Infirmary on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 surrounded by
his loving family by his side.
Born in Joggins, NS, he was the son of
the late Margaret (Scopie) Edwards of Joggins and the late Garnet
Edwards of River Hebert, NS.
Peter loved music and enjoyed playing
guitar with friends and family. Fishing with his special
friend Kevin, and good times with his Buddy Wayne (Cat).
Peter fought a courageous battle with cancer for many many
years.
He will be dearly missed by his loving
wife of 39 years, Dawn (McCormick) Edwards; daughter Amanda (Michael)
McLellan, Joggins; son Jeremy (Beth), Amherst, NS; grandchildren
Melissa, Brandon, Daniel McLellan, Brandon, Lanaya, Kyler Edwards;
brother Michael (Susan), Joggins, NS; sister Debbie (Bruce) Hebert,
River Hebert, NS; Aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and his special
Fur baby Dexter Boo Boo.
He was predeceased by his mother
Margaret (Scopie) Edwards, step-father Vernon Hoeg, Father Garnet
Edwards, step-mother Betty nee Doyle; son Jason; brothers Ricky and
Butch; nephews Scotty Edwards.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place
and in keeping with Peter’s wishes, there will be no visitation or
funeral service. A private ceremony will take place at a
later date.
Special thanks to the excellent staff at
Halifax Infirmary, Floor 6A for their kind and caring support to Peter
and is family.
