Pauline Bilsky 2020

Pauline’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pauline Bilsky announce her passing at the Lampman Community Health Center, Lampman, SK, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at the age of 101 years.
Pauline was born on October 12, 1919, in Poland, to Jan and Mary (Korpan) Gulansky. In May 1932, at the age of twelve years, Pauline immigrated to Canada with her mother, Mary after her father died in the war. They settled in the Buchanan District, SK, where Pauline attended Gravel Hill School. Upon completion of her education, Pauline continued to help on the family farm.
On February 16, 1939, Pauline married Frank Bilsky in Canora, SK. Together, they were blessed with two children, Caroline and David. They raised their family and farmed in the Gravel Hill District until 1990, when they retired and moved to Canora, SK.
Pauline was an active member of St. Constantine and Helen Ukrainian Catholic Church, Vasloutz. She loved knitting/crocheting/sewing, caring for her flowers, making perogies, canning and gardening. She also enjoyed shuffleboard at the Keen Age Centre, Saturday Night Bingo with her friends at Park Place, and winning at cards against her grandkids. She was a kind and generous soul who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She will be dearly missed by all who had the great fortune to know and love her.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Frank; daughter, Caroline and son-in-law, Joe Raiwet; and brother-in-law, Steve Olynick.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, David (Yvonne) of Arran, SK; grandchildren: Dalton Bilsky of Estevan, SK, Karla (James) Vander Schaaf of Lampman, SK, Desiree (Fateh) Bilsky of Ottawa, ON, and Desmond (Sammie) Bilsky of Lampman, SK; and great-grandchildren Cst. Quentin Vander Schaaf of Taloyoak, NU, Olivia Bilsky of Lampman, SK, and Elizabeth Bilsky of Lampman, SK. She will also be forever remembered by her siblings: Michael (Darlene) Tohivsky of Walla Walla, Washington, Helen Olynick of Saskatoon, SK, and Janet (Geno) Astolfi of Yorkton, SK, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Private Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Very Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Canora Cemetery.
