Paul Lemuel Johnstone 19592020

Paul Lemuel Johnstone
1959-2020
Paul Lemuel Johnstone, age 61, of Aylesford,
passed away on December 3, 2020 in Soldier’s Memorial
Hospital, Middleton. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Jean
(Johnstone) Bond of Kentville, and the late John Johnstone. Paul
worked at the Cranberry Bog in Aylesford since he was a teenager. The
Cranberry Bog saw three owners during Paul’s working career,
and he was indispensable to each of them. Friends from the Bog would
still call Paul when he was in the hospital, asking him questions and
looking for assurance. He loved fixing things, whether it was a car,
lawnmower, or anything he could find, and especially loved spending
time in the garage with his son Cory. When he was unable to work any
longer, he started building birdhouses and safety fixing his home with
Cory, he always said “he was the brains and Cory was the
hands”. He had so many ideas and was always on fast forward
to get things done. He even built a robot made of tin cans two weeks
before his passing. Above all, he loved and cherished his family, and
was always there for them in any and every capacity. In addition to
his mother Jean, Paul is survived by his son, Cory (Shannon Schofield)
of Aylesford; stepsons, Timmy Kane of Lakeville and Brian Kane of Ont;
stepdaughter, Heather Kane of Blue Mountain; sisters, Leta (Ronald)
Williams of Centerville; Darlene (John) McInnis of Grand Pre; and
Michele Adams (Grant Metham), of Enfield; brothers, Jimmy (Muriel)
Johnstone, of Waterville; John Johnstone (Debbie Veinotte) of
Waterville; Daniel (Tanya) Johnstone of Meadowview; and Sam Johnstone
of New Minas; step-father Everett Bond of Kentville; granddaughter,
Virginia; step-grandchildren, Aaren, Damien, Jacob and Brianna;
several nieces and nephews; as well as Jean Metham whom Paul
considered his second mom; and Blake Johnson, one of the owners of the
Cranberry bog who was a good friend and boss to Paul, right to the
end. He was predeceased by his father John; sister, Rosie Johnstone;
twin brother, David Johnstone; nephew, Christopher Williams; and
great-nieces, Emma and Rain. Cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation. A public graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings
County, Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Due to Covid-19, please
