On January 29, 2020 in Cranbrook, B.C., two of Pat’s daughters had the honour of seeing their Mom off on to her next journey with God. Our Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister a truly warm-hearted and wonderful spirit to friends and family alike.
Pat loved life, and whether she was playing bingo, 5 pin bowling, working out at Curves, chatting on the phone with friends and family, or simply sitting on her front steps talking to people passing by while enjoying her Pepsi, she embraced living with passion.
Pat spent many hours volunteering at the local thrift stores, the food bank, her church, the Legion and Eastern Star, always willing to help out anyone in need. Born to William & Julia King (Palmer) in Crawford Bay, B.C. in 1934. Pat at age 22 met and married Edmon William Oslund. Eddie and Pat made Kimberly B.C. their home, with Eddie working for Cominco and Pat at home raising their four children.
Pat is survived by her large and loving family. Her sister Norma Hempstock of Kimberley, her daughter, Elaine Stepan (Jaro) of Cranbrook, son Stephen Oslund (Ruth) of Prince George, daughter Lynn King (Warren) of Mission, and daughter Sandra Oslund of Victoria. Her grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Tomas (Brandy), Sara (Justin), Aron, Justin (Desiree), and Amy. Pat’s great grandchildren, Taliya, Oakley, Zariya, Annika, Ava, Donitello, and Althea. Sisters-in-law Anne Oslund and Margaret Oslund, and numerous nieces and nephews. Love of family to Pat was all encompassing, her extended grandchildren are Justin, Harmony (Dustin), Erica and Natasha, and her extended great grandchildren, Jordan and Madison.
Predeceased by her husband Eddie, in 2003, her mom Julia and father William, brothers George, Robert and Melvin (Unkie), sisters Rosanne, Beatrice, Lorraine, Louise and Sylvia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village for their love and care of Mom over the past few years.
There will be a service on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Kimberley United Church at 1:00 pm. There will be a lunch to follow.
