Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patricia “Pat” Arlene Rooney announces her peaceful passing that occurred on Saturday February 22, 2020 at the Loch Lomond Villa. She was born March 3, 1942 in Saint John and was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Plint) Higgins.
Pat was a kind soul with a big heart and cherished her family and friends. In her earlier years, she worked at T.S. Simms; she enjoyed flowers, painting and listening to country music, especially Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves.
She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Ron) Cooper of Saint John, Patricia (Hudson) Rooney-Earle of Ontario, Mary Bartlett of Fredericton and Bonnie (Murray) Northrup of Rothesay; brother Reginald Higgins; devoted sister and brother-in-law Mary Lynn (Roy) Courtney of Moncton; sister June Pagurly of Ontario; grandchildren Matthew and Ashley Cooper, Brittany and Becca Earle and Stephanie Bartlett.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband George Rooney.
A very special thank you to the entire staff at the Loch Lomond Villa; Admin, Director of Recreation and the compassionate nursing staff.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. A private family graveside service will be held in Harding’s Point Cemetery in the spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the NB Lung Association or SPCA Animal Rescue.
